Liposuction is the surgical removal of fat. During Liposuction, small incisions are made around the surgery area. Tubes called cannula are inserted into the incisions. These tubes have a slight vacuum applied, which pulls fat from the affected area underneath the skin, and into a container for disposal. Lasers can be used during liposuction to help dissolve more fat, and at the same time, tighten loose skin. Pro-Lipo uses two different wavelengths of laser light to help achieve optimal results . The first is 1064 nm and has been used for a long time known by the name "Smart Lipo". This laser helps to break apart the fat and causes the connective tissue between the fat to contract over time. The second is a newer wavelength of 1319 nm, close to the wavelength used by "Cool Lipo". This wavelength creates more heat and is delivered to the dermis after liposuction to help tighten the skin itself and the dermis underneath. These laser wavelengths work by stimulating collagen growth with the results slowly appearing, usually over 6 months time.
